Robert Ray "Bobby" Buckley, 82, of Palacios, TX passed away August 16, 2023.  He was born June 3, 1941 in Palacios to the late Alex Buckley and Mary Perez Buckley.

Bobby spent many years working for Texaco Sealand before going into the oil field.  He later was employed by PISD in the maintenance department from which he retired. Upon retiring, he became a bus driver for the PISD district, driving regular school routes and, also, taking the band on Friday nights to football games.

In his younger years Bobby played football, baseball, golf, and loved to bowl. He was a very competitive athlete and excelled at many. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He enjoyed going to watch his kids participate in their sporting events, later watching his grandkids who all inherited his love for sports.  He loved going for rides down the country roads looking at wildlife. After retirement, he enjoyed taking his wife for rides along the bay. His favorite past time was drinking coffee with friends and his kids, watching old western movies and shows about animals. He loved having breakfast on Sundays at Cheli's. Bobby never met a stranger He was an amazing father, grandfather, and friend with a contagious smile that would light up a room.  He will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca Buckley.

Survivors include children Annette LeBlanc (Eric), Barbara Peeples (Anthony), Roberta Weixelman (Trent), Bobbie Buckley,  Polly Howell (Marian); Robert Sanchez (Jody); Yvonne Hink (Ron); Robby Buckley (Yvette) and Alfred Buckley; brother Darrell Buckley (Deanna); grandchildren Nicole LeBlanc, Phillip Leblanc, Jordan Sanchez, Kade Sanchez, Kamryn Vickers, Sean Vickers, Trey Weixelman, Gunner Weixelman, Jordan Peeples; Jason Hink, A. J. Fort, Derek Hink, Josh Buckley, Kimberly Buckley, Alyssa Buckley, Angel Buckley, Ryan Davis, Ali Reynoso and Robert Peckham and 11 great grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 1:30 PM Monday, August 21, 2023 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.  Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 PM.  Interment will follow at Palacios Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Hector Gomez, Trent Weixelman, Darrell Buckley, Alfred Buckley, Robert Sanchez and Robbie Buckley. Honorary pallbearers are Sons-in-Law Ron Hink, Marian Howell, Eric Le Blanc and Tony Peeples; nephews Aaron Buckley and Alex Buckley, and grandsons Jason, Ryan, Josh, Philip, Kade, Jordan, Sean, Trey and Gunner
