Julia Sapien Guerrero, 87, of Bay City passed away February 6, 2025.  She was born May 10, 1937 in East Bernard, Texas to the late Julio Sapien and Rita Longoria Sapien.

Julia loved spending time doing word searches and watching The Price is Right and telenovelas on her TV. She loved to laugh and spend time with her grandchildren. She loved to tell jokes and spread joy around her. Julia Guerrero always had a smile on her face, and no one could take that from her; she was caring and kind and never complained when life became hard. She was an amazing and strong woman who believed in the Lord and prayed in times of need for her family. She will forever be loved and missed.

Survivors include daughter Lydia Villarreal (Jose Villareal); sisters Lupe Benevides, Susie Vasquez and Maria Stella Sapien (Manuel Mendez); brother Daniel Sapien; grandchildren Melissa Ortiz, Mario Sanchez, Jaklyn Sanchez, Monica Villarreal, Jose Garcia, Crystal Sapien, Marissa Silva, Joe Luis Mendoza, Elize Mendoza, and Jesus Mendoza and 30 great-grandchildren including Rubi Ortiz, Tristan Ortiz, and Maya Ortiz.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Friday, February 14, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM and Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM with Rev. Gabriel Espinosa officiating.  Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Tristan Ortiz, Santiago Ortiz, Rubi Ortiz, Mario Sanchez, Joe Luis Mendoza and Teddy Vega.
