Juan Cruz Longoria, 80, of Bay City, Texas, passed away on October 16, 2024. He was born on April 21, 1944, to Natividad Longoria and Petra Cruz Longoria.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kayla L. Sanchez; 2 great-grandsons, Logan James Galvan, and Elija Galvan; sister, Elvira Carrillo; brothers, Gilbert Vasquez, Natividad Longoria, Sr., Adam Longoria, and Rey Longoria.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rafaela R. Longoria; his children, Darla L. Ortiz (Matt) of Bay City, Texas, Tanya L. Guerrero (Tiofilo/Curly) of Buda, Texas, Ryan Longoria of Blessing, Texas, Starr L. Cruz (James) of Kyle, Texas, and Crystal L. Zepeda (David) of Bay City, Texas; sister, Emma Reyes (Ernest) of Markham, Texas; brother, Sylvestre Longoria (Cres) of Blessing, Texas; he is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Johnny Longoria had a large family, but also maintained a close-knit circle. He was devoted to his wife, Ralfie, and their six children. His small circle eventually grew to include 34 members with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids, all of whom he adored. He cherished quality time with each of them. He was passionate about sports and excelled in them, playing softball well into his fifties. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing with his sidekick and partner, Ralfie. He was known as the "Checker's Champion" in the family. Johnny was a die-hard fan of the Houston Astros and the Houston Texans. He loved picnics and spending time in nature, where he could have long visits and talks. He was his children's biggest fan and took pride in all their accomplishments. He left behind a proud legacy that will continue through his family for many generations to come. He was deeply loved and will be missed every single day.

The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation from 1:00pm-2:00pm Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City, Texas. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00pm with Matt Springfield officiating. Interment will follow at Midfield Cemetery. Pallbearers for Johnny will be Joe Galvan, Jr., Steven Galvan, Jeremy Guerrero, Johnny Guerrero, Robby Longoria, James Cruz, Jr., and David Zepeda, Jr.
