Jo Ann O'Connell, 95, of Van Vleck passed away October 9, 2025.  She was born April 29, 1930 in Bay City to the late Arthur P. Moore and Matilda Peters Moore (Jones).

Jo Ann was a charter member of First United Methodist Church of Van Vleck. She was a very active member and loved her church and her church family very much.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Ray O'Connell her and her sister, Virginia M. Whiddon.

Survivors include daughters Nancy Brown (Bill), Eileen O'Connell and Kathleen O'Connell; son Pat O'Connell (Lisa); grandchildren Lindsay Goodman (James), Christopher Brown (Heather), Kara Wilkinson (Tim) and Emily Hobbs (John) and great grandchildren Danielle, Kaylee, Rylee, Wyatt, Lila, Ruby, Xander, Griffin, Ezra and Vanna.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, October 16, 2025 at the First United Methodist Church in Van Vleck with Rev. William Murphree officiating.  Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.  Pallbearers will be Ed Stafford, Christopher Brown, Donnie O'Connell, Billy Bickham, Terry Bridgwater, John Hobbs, Craig Martin and Joe Whiddon.
