Jimmie Wayne Massey, 82, of Van Vleck passed away November 11, 2020.  He was born January 19, 1938 in Houston, TX to the late Robert Lee Massey and Olivia Juanita Callihan Massey.

He served his country in the US Air Force and was a longtime member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.  Jim was an entrepreneur throughout his lifetime, in which he owned and operated Aqua-Zyme Services for the last 30 years.  He enjoyed raising red cows and it gave him much pleasure to show people his red cows at the ranch.  Family was important to Jim; his grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him much joy.  Jim was very active in the Matagorda County Youth Rodeo Association serving as a board member and President.  He was a long-time supporter of the Van Vleck FFA and purchased many youth projects at the Matagorda County Fair Livestock Auction.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother William Massey.

Survivors include daughters Michelle Atkinson & her husband Marshall and Patricia Massey Bell; son Kenneth Massey & his wife Laura; sisters Winnie Ruth O'Connell and Bobbie Onken; grandchildren Rachel Massey, Andrew Massey & his wife Rose, Justin Atkinson & his wife Michelle, Cody Atkinson, Mathew Bell and Taylor Bell and 5 great grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Saturday, November 14, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church in Van Vleck.  Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM with Rev. Kenny Carter officiating.  Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be Justin Atkinson, Cody Atkinson, Andrew Massey, Rusty Evelo, Donnie O'Connell and Terry Powell.  All employees of Aqua-Zyme Services will serve as honorary pallbearers.
