Janie R. Salazar, 93, of Van Vleck passed away January 29, 2025.  She was born June 28, 1931, in Cuero, Texas to the late Juan Rodriguez and Damacia Vasquez Rodriguez.

Janie had a great love for gardening, sewing, crocheting, and most of all Jesus. Janie was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe church, a choir member for many years, and a member of Legion of Mary.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Pasqual Salazar, Jr. and her son Pasqual Salazar III.

Survivors include daughters, Rosie Hernandez (Felipe), Cynthia Salazar, Dora Vasquez (Ernest), Betty Jimenez (Anthony) and Irma Gamez (Frank); sister, Minnie Vasquez; brother, Rudy Rodriguez; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM Monday, February 3, 2025, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.  A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM.  Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Gabriel Espinosa officiating.  Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.  Pallbearers will be Daniel Hernandez, Frankie Gamez, Greg Gamez, John Luna, Adrian Martinez and Dylan Lopez. The sisters want to give a special thank you to all the grandkids that showered their Momo with love and care during her time of need.
