Abel Hurtado Sr., 67, of Bay City, TX transitioned into eternity, surrounded by his family in his home on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 and is now rejoicing in the arms of his heavenly father.

Abel was born on August 23, 1955 in Acambaro, Guanajuato, Mexico. He was proud of his Mexican heritage, but also took great pride in becoming an American citizen.

In 1996, Abel was called to ministry and became an ordained minister. He later attended seminary at Instituto Biblico Ebenezer where he earned his diploma to become a Reverend.

Abel devoted his entire life to two things; God and his family. He committed his life to Christ as a young man and spent the rest of his days sharing the gospel and expanding God's Kingdom, fulfilling his calling from our Savior. He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, and the best Welo, whose contagious smile would light up a room! His favorite place to be was with his family talking, laughing, eating, playing games and caring for everyone's animals; Welo always took care of everyone.

He is preceded in death by his father, Miguel Hurtado and mother, Socorro Garcia. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Clara Hurtado, his children and their spouses, Abel & Leisha Hurtado Jr., Elizabeth and Bobby Oros, Sara and Matthew Cruz, and Lucas Hurtado, and the joy of his life, his 8 grandchildren, Blake, Madelyn, Elyse, Kash, Charlotte, Jacob, Olivia and Penelope. He is also survived by his 6 siblings, Esther, Miguel, Rosa, Ana, Lupe and Reyna.

A prayer and worship service will begin at 6:00 PM Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Harvest Time Church.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, August 18, 2023 at Harvest Time Church with Pastor Saul Garcia officiating.  Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Ricardo Asencio Sr., Efrain Robles Sr., Eulalio Lopez ,Enrique Brito Jr., Jorge Lara Jr. and Steve Malone Sr.

Abel Hurtado Sr., 67, de Bay City, TX hizo la transición a la eternidad, rodeado de su familia en su hogar el miércoles 9 de agosto de 2023 y ahora se regocija en los brazos de su padre celestial.

Abel nació el 23 de agosto de 1955 en Acámbaro, Guanajuato, México. Estaba orgulloso de su herencia Mexicana, pero también se enorgullecía de convertirse en ciudadano Americano.

En 1996, Abel fue llamado al ministerio y se convirtió en ministro ordenado. Más tarde asistió al seminario en el Instituto Bíblico Ebenezer, donde obtuvo su diploma para convertirse en Reverendo.

Abel dedicó toda su vida a dos cosas; Dios y su familia. Comprometió su vida a Cristo cuando era joven y pasó el resto de sus días compartiendo el evangelio y expandiendo el Reino de Dios, cumpliendo con el llamado de nuestro Salvador, nuestro Señor Jesucristo. Era un esposo, padre, hermano amoroso y afectuoso, y el mejor Welo; su sonrisa contagiosa iluminaba cada lugar que habitaba! Su lugar favorito era hablando con su familia, sonriendo, comiendo, jugando y cuidando los animales de todos; Welo siempre cuido de todos.

Le precedieron en la muerte su padre, Miguel Hurtado y su madre, Socorro García. Le sobreviven su amada esposa de 43 años, Clara Hurtado, sus hijos y sus cónyuges, Abel y Leisha Hurtado Jr., Elizabeth y Bobby Oros, Sara y Matthew Cruz, Lucas Hurtado, y la alegría de su vida, sus 8 nietos, Blake, Madelyn, Elyse, Kash, Charlotte, Jacob, Olivia y Penélope. También le sobreviven sus 6 hermanos, Esther, Miguel, Rosa, Ana, Lupe y Reyna.

Un servicio de oración y adoración comenzará a las 6:00 PM el jueves 17 de agosto de 2023 en Harvest Time Church. Los servicios fúnebres serán a las 10:00 AM el viernes 18 de agosto de 2023 en Harvest Time Church. Los portadores del féretro serán Ricardo Asencio Sr., Efraín Robles Sr., Eulalio López, Enrique Brito Jr., Jorge Lara Jr. y Steve Malone Sr.
