Woodrow Louis "Woody" Ludwig, 89, of Bay City, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011. He was born February 21, 1922 in Breslau, TX to Karl Frederick "Charlie" Ludwig and Vlasta Solumunek Ludwig. He was a resident of Bay City for the past 60 years, a retired Pipe fitter, and was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bay City.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Leola Kretzschmar Ludwig and by his parents.
He is survived by his daughters: Sandra K Welfel and husband Eugene of Bay City and Julie Karee Carr and husband Kirk of Bay City; by his grandchildren: Rebecca Park, Elizabeth Bridges, Ryan Carr, DeAnn Allen, Russell Welfel, and Nicole Sitz; and by 10 great-grandchildren.

The Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Casey Jarzombek officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be Michael Miller, Romey Swanson, Mark Ludwig, David Nelson, John Allen, and Werner "Buck" Hartman. Honorary Pallbearers include E.A. "Tater" Welfel, Danny Hartman, Mike Hartman, Phillip Allen, Brad Sitz, Ryan Carr, Bryan Park, and Russell Welfel.
