Winifred Thompson, 91, of Palacios passed away September 18, 2012. She was born January 14, 1921 in Pampa, Texas to the late Henry Madden Barrett & Ruth Adee Barrett. She owned and operated Winifred Thompson's Bookkeeping Service in Palacios for 60 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church as well as a member of the Choir, member of the Eastern Star and an avid gardener.

Her husband Arthur James Thompson, Sr., daughter Jeanne Carol Schooley, grandson Aaron Barrett Thompson and 9 siblings preceded her in death. Survivors include daughter Candace Lynelle Sams & husband Lee of Grand Bay, AL; sons Lester Warren Bashaw & wife Angela of Somerville, TX and Arthur James Thompson, Jr. & wife Carol of Wharton and grandchildren Brian Bashaw, Courtney Bashaw, Laura Bashaw, Tina Varga, Jason Grace, Kelly Thompson, Joni Koten, and 12 great-grandchildren
Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until 12 Noon Saturday. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Palacios Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 202 Main St., Palacios, TX 77465.
