IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William Earl
Yeager
July 13, 1937 – January 14, 2023
William Earl Yeager, better known as Bill, went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 14, 2023. He was born to Howard Bryant Yeager and Hatti Neeley Yeager on July 13, 1937. As a young boy, Bill spent his days exploring the countryside outside of Bryan, TX where his parents owned a dairy farm. He developed a deep love of fishing and hunting, and passed this knowledge on to his own boys later in life.
Bill graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1960 with a degree in pharmacy. His career began in Dallas and later continued in Frankston, TX when he opened Frankston Pharmacy. Bill raised his four children, Bryant, Leigh, Gayle, and Paul, in Frankston where he was very active in the community. Bill was truly a jack of all trades. For instance, he served as a Deputy Constable for Anderson County, owned and operated a 30-acre crawfish farm named Caddo Creek Crawfish, ran an apiary of 100 hives of honey bees, and owned 80 head of Brangus cattle. He did all of this while simultaneously running the Frankston Pharmacy. Bill was also proud to serve in the Army National Guard of Texas.
In 1988, Bill married Patricia Yeager. They were married for 34 wonderful years and went on many adventures together. After retiring, Bill and Pat moved to Palacios, Texas so Bill could spend the rest of his days doing what he loved the most…fishing.
Bill loved the Lord and went on mission trips all over the world to spread the Gospel. He was a proud member of the men's singing group The Coastalaires and, more recently, the Singing Men of Southeast Texas. He thoroughly enjoyed singing for the Lord and this brought him tremendous joy and pride.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Hatti Yeager, his brother, Robert Yeager, and his beloved grandson, Luke Yeager. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Yeager, and his children, William Booth, Bryant Yeager, Gayle Hubbard (Jeremy), Leigh Tenhet, Zachary Paul Yeager (Linsey), and Chris Skoglund (Mindy). He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren, along with his ever-faithful companion, a chocolate Labrador named Queenie.
The Celebration of Life will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the First Baptist church in Palacios.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to First Baptist Church Palacios Building Fund.
