William Newton Willis, Jr., 84, of League City, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2007. He was born March 6, 1923 in Smithville, TX to Maude Vivian Dunlap Willis and William N. Willis, Sr. He was a long time resident of Bay City, and was a retired Math and Science teacher from the Bay City ISD. He was a member of the Methodist Church and a World War II veteran of the US Navy.

He is survived by his daughters: Cheryl Lynn Willis and Denise Willis-Raup and husband E. A. Raup, all of Houston; and by one sister: Shirley Carmichael of Buffalo. He was preceded in death by his wife: Lillian C. Willis; his parents; by his sisters: Susie Mae Huebel, Clarise Huhn, Evelyn George, and Minnie Lee Willis; and by his brothers: Gordon Willis and Forrest Ray Willis.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, August 3, 2007 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Harrison officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
