William "Bill" David Riley Elkins Jr., 69, of Houston passed away Friday, April 17, 2009. He was born September 18, 1939 in Houston to the late Juanita Bertha Baird & William David Riley Elkins Sr.

Bill is survived by his wife: Doris Jean Bleakley Elkins of Houston; daughter: Sandra Christian of Dickinson; son: Bill Elkins III & wife Belinda of Bay City; stepson: Kent Woods of Houston; sister: Peggy Weldon of Bay City; grandchildren: Carolyn & Alexandria Kolb, and Tyler & Celeste Elkins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and first wife: Carolyn M. Elkins in 1988.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday night at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Interment: will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be: Tyler Elkins, Bill Elkins, Louis Fojtik, David Weldon, Mike Weldon, Greg McGowen, and Robert Bleakley. Honorary Pallbearer will be David Bleakley.
