Wayne E. Stavinoha, 56, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012, after a short battle with cancer. Wayne was born to Joe F. and Nonie Schneider Stavinoha in Bay City, Texas, where he lived all of his life.
Wayne was employed by Jackson Electric Coop for over eleven years. He worked in gas and propane sales and truck driving for over 35 years. He had a very loyal customer relationship and he loved having some of the freedom that comes with trucking.
Wayne was an avid hunter. He loved spending time hunting in Colorado or at his place in Leakey, Texas. He and his wife, Lena, enjoyed the outdoors. Wayne was also very talented with his hands making or refinishing furniture and creating metal art. Wayne had a very special relationship with many of his nieces and nephews, loved spending time with them and cherished each and every one of them.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lena Junek Stavinoha; brothers, James Stavinoha and his wife, Phyllis, from Bay City, Texas; Raymond Stavinoha and his wife, Tina, from Tomball, Texas; and sisters, Shirley Garner of Sweeny, Texas; and Loraine Crawford, and her husband, Doyle, of Brady, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Dad, Mom, brother-in-law, James Garner, and nephew, David Stavinoha.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm at the Taylor Bros. Funeral Home on Sunday, December 23, 2012 with Thomas Bradley officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are Burt Stavinoha, Eric Stavinoha, Scott Stavinoha, Patrick Garner, Craig Garner, Kirk Reddoch, Cody Tweedle, Bryan Genzer, and Zachary Tucker.
