Warren D. "Bud" Maynard, 76, of Palacios passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013. He was born July 9, 1936 in Nowata, Oklahoma to the late Chance & Edith Reed Maynard. Bud was an avid sports fan, especially football. He was a very loving father and grandfather.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents; very loving wife of 44 years: Hilda Lee Gering Maynard; and son: Louis Michael Maynard. He is survived by 2 daughters: Kathy Maynard Huddleston & husband Mike of San Antonio and Kelly Maynard Schneider & husband Ronnie of Palacios, son: Kenneth Dale Maynard & wife Barbara of Palacios; 6 grandchildren: Michael, Mark, & Matthew Huddleston, Ashlyn & Jakes Schneider, and Trey Michael Maynard; 2 great grandchildren: Cade Schneider & Luke Huddleston; and sister: Darlene Heckman

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Palacios Funeral Home, with the family receiving visitors from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Palacios Cemetery.
