Obituary

Wanda Kay (Watson) Parker, 83, of Huntsville, Texas (formerly Bay City) passed away on September 16, 2026. She was born on July 14, 1943, in Bay City to the late Rufus Edward and Claudia Vern (Terrell) Watson. She was a 1961 graduate of El Campo High School and graduated from the Champ Traylor Memorial Hospital Licensed Vocational Nursing School in Port Lavaca, Texas in 1974.

Kay was a dedicated wife, loving mother and proud grandmother and great grandmother. Kay was a nurse for Matagorda General Hospital Emergency Room for several years before working at South Texas Medical Clinic for over 20 years. She was a member of the Gulf Coast League of LVNs and the Texas League of LVNs. Her favorite job though was caring for her family and especially her grandchildren. Kay was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Kay enjoyed her life by spending time with her family, camping, fishing, gardening and traveling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joanne (Watson) McLeod and her brother-in-laws, Karl McLeod and Buddy Parker.

Survivors include her loving husband, Owen “Bill” William Parker of 43 ½ years; son, Pat Conroy and wife, Karen; daughter, Julie Blackmore and husband, Jeff; stepsons, Kevin Parker and fiance, Sharon; and Michael Parker; Grandchildren include Cody Conroy and wife, Haley; Cassidy Williford and husband, Nick; Kody Parker and wife, LaRissa; and Heather Parker. Great grandsons include Gabriel and Angel Merillat and great granddaughter, Ellie Conroy who was born on Kay’s 83rd birthday. Brother-in-law, Charlie Parker and wife, Mary; Brother-in-law, Bob Parker and wife, Debbie; Sister-in-law, Sheri Glover and husband, Billy Jack; Sister-in-law, DeAnn Tanksley; and many nieces, nephews and precious friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation at 9:00am Monday, September 21, 2026, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10:00am with Rev. Lane Par-Due officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cody Conroy, Kody Parker, Justin Hearn, Jacob Hearn, Daniel Estes and Roger Shick.
