October 4, 1938 – January 4, 2025
Wanda Acheson, know by many as MēMē, a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025 in Bay City, Texas. She was born October 4, 1938 in Edna, Texas to GA Quinn and Elizabeth Johns Quinn Koop. Wanda lived a life rich with love and devotion to her family.
Wanda was the proud matriarch of her family. She is survived by her four children Brenda Stephens & husband Troy, Cindy Brown, Connie Miller & husband Russ and Larry Acheson, Jr. & wife Kim. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Cody McGinty (Lydia), Kelly McGinty, Taylor Brown (Angela), Andrew Acheson, Sr. (Chantelle), Morgan Bullard (Cody), Garret Miller (Ashley) and Jacob Acheson as well as nineteen cherished great grandchildren who brought immense joy to her later years. She will be missed by her surviving siblings O'Banion Quinn, Barbara Micaletti, Gary Quinn and Evelyn Vacek.
A woman of many passions, Wanda found solace in the outdoors where she nurtured vibrant gardens that reflected both beauty and hard work. Her love for yard work was matched only by her creative spirit, which flourished through crafting projects that often became treasured gifts for those she loved.
She was preceded in death by several loved ones including Gordon Mathis, grandson Clinton Allen McGinty, sisters Elizabeth Bayer, Ethel Wake and Johnnie Sue Vaness, and brother Troy Quinn, all of whom hold a special place in the hearts of those left behind.
