Walter Ernest Shaw, 83, of Bay City, TX, passed away Monday, November 17, 2008. He was born April 21, 1925 in Watts, CA to Walter Weedall Shaw and Beryl Eeleen Lenz Shaw. He was a former resident of California and has resided in Bay City since 1993. He retired as a Deputy Sheriff from the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept in California after 31 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bay City, a Life Member of VFW Post 2438 in Bay City, and was a World War II veteran of the US Navy.
He is survived by his wife: Ann R. Shaw of Bay City; his daughter: Barbara Joy Bazzell & husband Jeff of Grand Prairie, TX; his son: William Shaw & wife Ginger of Redding, CA; his step-children: Diana Ellis of Paramount, CA, Sandra Winberry & husband Ted of Piggott, AR, Vicki Saa & husband Misael of Oceanside, CA and Donald C. Embry of Bay City, TX; by his brothers: Ronnie Shaw and Ben Shaw, both of Long Beach, CA and Stanley Shaw of Ventura, CA; and by 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter W. and Beryl L. Shaw.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Zimmerman officiating.
