Vivian (“Tut”) Lucille Abshier, 93, of Wadsworth, Texas, passed peacefully to her Heavenly home on April 21, 2026, surrounded by her children at her home.
She was born in Old Gulf, Texas, on June 21, 1932, to Joseph and Minnie Ottis and was raised in Wadsworth.
She graduated from Bay City High School, where she was a cheerleader and played basketball.
She married Jon Edward Abshier on August 9, 1951. They made their home in Wadsworth, where they raised their five children: Kim, Dave, Chuck, Beth, and Mitch.
Vivian worked at First National Bank of Bay City early in her marriage. She later became a devoted stay-at-home mother and homemaker, raising their five children while also serving as the bookkeeper for the family construction business.

Vivian volunteered for many years as a Pink Lady at Matagorda General Hospital, where she also served as an officer.
A strong woman of faith, she loved the Lord with all her heart and soul and was a role model for what true faith looks like. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she served in the Altar Society and as a Eucharistic minister. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
She enjoyed life to the fullest alongside the love of her life, Jon “Bunt” Abshier, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. She loved spending time with family and friends, traveling, and playing bridge. She brought a bright smile and love to everyone she met and never knew a stranger.
