Vivian Ione Sliva, 84, of Blessing, TX, passed away January 11, 2022. She was born September 4, 1937 in Houston, TX to Vernon Maxwell and Ione Rains Maxwell.

Vivian graduated from Reagan High School in the Houston Heights. She worked as a secretary at various companies, including the Houston Police Department where she met her beloved husband Emil Sliva, Jr. After raising their own children, together they fostered several children who they loved as their own. Family and Church were the most important things in her life. She was especially proud of her grandchildren, never forgetting a birthday. She was very dedicated to church, including the Walk to Emmaus. Vivian loved to sing and dance, grow flowers, and bake goodies for her family for the holidays. She was very loved by those who knew her and she will be missed dearly.

Vivian is preceded in death by her parents, and son Gary Sliva. She is survived by her husband Emil Andrew Sliva, Jr.; sons Donald Sliva and wife Teresa, Terry Sliva and wife Leticia, and Steve Sliva and wife Ida; brother Jim Maxwell; grandchildren Daniel Sliva, Derek Sliva, Andrew Sliva, Jacob Sliva, Matthew Sliva, Adrian Guerrero, Adam Guerrero and Korena Guerrero, and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and relatives beginning at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 15, 2022 at First United Methodist Church Bay City. Services will begin at 2:00 pm with Rev. Wade Floyd officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing. Pallbearers are Andrew Sliva, Matthew Sliva, Joe G. Sliva, John A. Sliva, Adam Guerrero, and Clay Pendleton.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the charity of your choice.
