Virginia Gatica Cantu, 48 of Palacios passed away Thursday, December 15, 2005 in Wharton, TX. She was born July 30, 1957 in Palacios, TX to the late Monico and Carmen Chavez Gatica. She was a life long resident of Palacios, and a Register Nurse at Matagorda General Hospital.
She is survived by her husband: Juan Martin Cantu of Palacios; 2 daughters: Christina and Katherine Cantu both of Palacios; 3 sons: Juan Martin Cantu, Jr., Jack Lee Gillett, Jr., and James Barbour Gillett all of Palacios; 4 sisters: Mary Yanes of Rockdale, Aurora Lopez of Baytown, Rosie Herrera and Janie Arroyo both of Palacios; 4 brothers: Bobby Gatica of League City, Tony Gatica of Pasadena, Mike and Marcus Gatica both of Palacios. Mrs. Cantu was preceded in death by her parents, sister: Paulene Gatica, and brother: Gabriel Gatica.
A Prayer Service will be held 7:30 PM Friday, December 16, 2005 at the Palacios Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, December 17, 2005 at the Palacios Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Flores officiating. Interment will follow at the Palacios Cemetery.
