Obituary

Victor "Hook" Longoria was born September 4th, 1965, one minute before his twin brother,  to Lupe and Lydia Longoria in Bay City, Texas.  Victor grew up working in the commercial fishing industry alongside his Dad and brothers.  After working as a deck hand for many years, he made captain having the opportunity to work on many gulf boats.  His work took him along the Texas coast and as far as the coast of Mississippi.  Wherever the shrimp were, that's where he went.  Due to his health conditions, he had to retire from the shrimping industry.

His many hobbies found him to be around the water.  He loved water skiing, surfboarding and especially the peacefulness of casting his fishing line into the water, sometimes coming home with a catch and sometimes not.  It was those early mornings or late evenings of fishing that he enjoyed the most.  His more recent hobbies included playing games and flying his drone.

Victor also had a love for music.  He was a self-taught guitar player and he and his twin brother Vincent played and made music together forming their own band.  When it came to sports, Victor was a diehard Minnesota Vikings fan and he loved the Houston Astros.  This past summer he was able to attend a home game for the Astros with his sister Hope and family.  His brother-in-law Richard introduced Victor to golf, playing 18 holes for the first time.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Lupe Sr. and Lydia G. Longoria, and his brother Ricardo Longoria.  His is survived by his daughters, Vanessa Nicole Smith (Tyler) of Biloxi Miss.; Victoria Ashley Longoria of Tampa, Fla.; Veronica Reyes ( Angel) of Houston, Tx.;  Chelsea Longoria of Port Lavaca, Tx.'; and Bella Longoria of Palacios, Tx.  Three brothers, Lupe Jr. (Julie), Ernest, and Vincent Longoria, all of Palacios.  Two sisters, Hope (Richard) Corbello of Houston, and Brenda (Vince) Reina of Wharton, Texas, and 14 grandchildren.   He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his special friend and companion Lara Carpenter.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm Friday, January 24, 2025 at Agape Family Outreach in Palacios.  Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM with Pastor Eric Young officiating.  Interment will follow at the Palacios Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Lupe Longoria Jr., Ernest Longoria, Vincent Longoria, Lupe Longoria III, Victor Reina, David DeLeon and honorary pallbearers Danny Trevino and Adrian Llanes.
