It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vicente Ortiz, Sr., 71, of Sweeny, Texas. He passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025. He was born on November 22, 1953, in Michoacán Mexico.

Vicente worked as a scaffold builder at Chevron for 30 years. He found joy in working, being in the game room and watching soccer and boxing, along with his novelas. He was known for being a hard worker, as well as being the most kind-hearted and loving person.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son, Vicente Ortiz, Jr.; grandson, Christopher Ortiz (Sarah); great-grandchildren, Evelyne Johnston, Alianna Ortiz, Kenai Ortiz, and Melody Ortiz.

His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

The Family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation from 10-11:00am Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City, Texas. He will be laid to rest with his wife in Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck at a later date.
