Vernis J. Landry passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015. Vernis was born on August 5, 1934 in Jefferson Island, Louisiana to the late Leo Paul and Ida Desormeaux Landry.

Survivors include his loving family, sons, Quinn Scheppan and wife Lynda, Rick Scheppan,Patrick Landry, daughters, Verna Romero, Connie Duhon, Theresa Richard and Pattie Smith; 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and brother Minos Landry. Vernis is preceded in death by his parents; wife Fay Dell Landry; sons Darrel J. Landry, Charlie William "Chuck" Scheppan and Kirk Anthony Scheppan;sister Louelle Theresa Landry.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00pm Wednesday, July 29 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Thursday, July 30, 2015 at St. Peter Lutheran Church with Rev. Jared Stillions officiating. Burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. . Serving as pallbearers Quinn Troy Scheppan II, Samuel Scheppan, Carl Carlton, Gary Greathouse and Tim Bohuslar.
