Velma L. Landrum, 93, passed away Nov. 29, 2008. She was born January 10, 1915 in Gueydan, LA to the late Luphied & Eva Belaire Landry. She was a longtime resident of Bay City, a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, charter member of Bay City Junior Service League, member of Bay City Women's Golf Association and member of the Bay City Country Club.

Her husband, E. M. "Nini" Landrum preceded her in death in 1991. Her sister Chloe L. Edge and brother Marvin J. Landry also preceded her in death. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Chloe & Gus Jones of Kingsland, TX, grandchildren Claire Pursley & husband Jeff, Porter Taylor, K. C. Jones, Steven Jones, great grandchild Taylor Nimmo and sister-in-law Moselle Landry.

Mass will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Casey Jarzombek officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Pallbearers will be Marc Landrum, Doug Pursley, Lynn Nunez, Bobby Wilkinson, Jim Mathes, Rusty Green & Scott Pedan. Pinkie Logan, Johnny Dickerson, Lindsey Thompson & Billy Penny will serve as honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Church or the Bay City Junior Service League.
