Ty Thi Nguyen, went to be with her Lord Sunday, Oct 28, 2012 after a courageous fight with cancer. Ty was born on August 6, 1936 in Thinh Long, Vietnam to the late Khoa and Cam Dang Nguyen. She loved to cook, and garden. She was a very active member of her church. She was a true entrepreneur and even in her later years she maintained her independence whether it be driving, her business and maintaining her own household. It wasn't until her battle with cancer weakened her so much that her body could not keep up with her tenacious will and spirit. She is survived by her loving family; daughters, Yen Tran & husband Bryan, Chi Nguyen & husband Steve; sons An Nguyen, Phuong Nguyen; God-son, Xung Than & wife Nga; daughter –in-law; Kim Vu; Brothers, Mui Nguyen and Vinh Nguyen; sisters, Luu Nguyen, Hue Nguyen, Ut Nguyen, and May Nguyen; 12 grandchildren and 2 grear-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Tu Nguyen, beloved son, Toan "Tony" Nguyen; . Rosaries 7:00P.M. Wednesday and Friday at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30P.M. Wednesday and Friday. Visitation from 4:00-5:00P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Mass of the Resurrection 10:00 A.M. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Palacios with Fr. Dominic Nguyen celebrant and Fr. Bryan Heyer and Fr. Khoa Nguyen con-celebrants. Burial to follow at Palacios Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers nephews, Peter Nguyen, Ike Nguyen, Sanh Nguyen, Chau Dinh, Tom Vu, Tuan Vu, Shawn Nguyen and Hoan Nguyen. Light lunch to follow at Vietnamese Apostalate Chapel Hall.
