Trinidad Gonzales Huerta, lovingly known to many as Grandma Trine, was born on June 7, 1936, in Columbus, Texas, to Julius and Luz Gonzales.
She passed from this life on April 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and unwavering love.
Trinidad was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raul Huerta, Sr.; her son, Wallace “Wally” Huerta; her great-grandson, Xavier Calem Zboral-Huerta; and her siblings Feliz, Jimmy Blue, Charles, and John Gonzales, Jovita Hernandez, Mary Longoria, Cruz Rios, Helen Rios, Gloria Gonzales, Julia Pulido, her infant siblings Mary Lou Gonzales and Jimmy Gonzales, and future son-in-law Leonel Treviño.
She is survived by her loving children: Mary Antonia Huerta of Van Vleck, Noah Huerta (Isabel) of Bay City, and Raul Huerta, Jr. (Rachel) of Van Vleck. She is also survived by her sister, Dolores Banegas. Trinidad leaves behind a large and cherished family, including 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved deeply.
Trinidad was a sweet and kind soul who found her greatest joy in her family. She was known for her generosity, her loving heart, and the warmth she shared with everyone she met.
Trinidad lived her life as a devout Catholic and served as a Eucharistic minister.
Her beautiful smile and joyful laugh will be remembered always. She was deeply loved by her children and grandchildren, and her presence will be greatly missed. Trinidad was the heart of her family.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m. at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home, 2313 Avenue I, Bay City, Texas.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1412 12th Street, Bay City, Texas. Rev. Gabriel Espinosa presiding.
Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, Van Vleck, Texas. Pallbearers are Victor Peña, Raul Huerta, Jr., Noah Huerta, Michael Huerta, Noah Valenzuela and Marco Peña.
Honorary pallbearers are David Castillo and Mario Peña.
