Travis Lee Jewell, 22, of New London, formerly of Mount Pleasant, Hillsboro and Palacios, Texas, died Thursday, April 5, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, Ill., as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident.

Born Oct. 4, 1984, in Palacios, he was the son of Regena Faye Jewell.

He was a 2003 graduate of Harmony High School and was studying criminal justice at Indian Hills Community College. He worked in landscaping. He was of the Christian Faith. He had a passion for art and drawing. He enjoyed derby-car racing and riding snowmobiles. He loved the outdoors and having barbeque parties with friends.

Survivors include his mother of Palacios; grandfather B. J. Jewell of Port Lavaca; grandmother Mary Katherine Jewell of Palacios & numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM Thursday, April 12, 2007 at the Palacios Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday, April 13, 2007 at the Palacios Funeral Home Chapel.
