Pastor Tony Walters was born August 15, 1949, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Tony enjoyed the woods and mountains of his childhood. At a very early age he found comfort in going to the woods and talking with God and exploring nature. This experience would lead him to dedicating his life and heart to the Lord as a teenager at First Creek Baptist Church.

Tony's work in construction took him to many different places and people. At one point he would take up surfing with his beach friend Bingo. This friendship sparked more than surfing, it honed Tony's walk with the Lord and the desire to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all that he encountered.

On May 19th, 2013, Tony was ordained by Jay Bartlett ministry as a deliverance minister. Tony's trademark smile and bearhugs melted many hearts to set them free and lead them to Jesus. On January 13, 2024, at 74 years of age, Tony completed his time on earth to enter into the Glory of the Lord in Heaven.

The Lord's promise to Tony, "wherever your feet step, that is your ministry."

Tony leaves behind the love of his life Betty Walters, sister Connie Wylie, sister-in-law Patricia Parsons, four children Beverly Hopkins, Adam Walters and Christina, Emily Walters and Kim Walters. Grandchildren: William Walters, AJ Walters, Lily Walters, Weston Walters, Davis Walters, Faith Walters, Zackary Walters, Quincy Jones, Hillary Hernandez and Breezy Mitchell. Great grandchildren: Bella Hernandez and Ramon Herandez, children through marriage: son in law Russell Saha, Jerry and Charlotte McKissick, grandchildren: Brandon, Bradley and Bryce McKissick, Great grandchildren: Brylei, Brylyn, Bradley, Bradyn and Brielle McKissick. Tony was preceded in death by his parents Ray and June Smith.

The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation at 1:00 AM Monday, January 22, 2024 at the Palacios Funeral Home, 701 1st St., Palacios, TX 77465.  Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM.  Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.
