Obituary

Beloved husband and father, Tommy Schultz, 83, of Palacios passed away August 11, 2010. He was born June 25, 1927 in Houston, TX to the late Tom Awalt & Bertie Lee Thompson Schultz.

He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII as a Seaman 1st Class on the USS Maryland. He was a devoted member of Caranachua Community Church; member & Past President of Good Sam Club; member & Past President of Telephone Pioneers; and a former Little League Softball coach in Houston. He was a marketing manager for Southwestern Bell working in Houston for 22 years and retiring in San Antonio in 1985 after a total of 37 years.

Survivors include his wife Jerry Schultz of Palacios; daughters Karen Hadaway & husband Ray of Iola, TX and Tess Flores & husband Steve of Palacios; son Ron Schultz of Palacios; sister Maurine Bauer of Cypress, TX; grandchildren Shannon Bullard, Tony Hadaway & wife Meredith, Reagan Hadaway, Amanda Schultz, Gordon Schultz, Lauren Flores-Morales & husband Adrian and Kimberlee Flores; great grandchildren Marshall Palmer, Nolan Palmer & Natalie Hadaway and many nieces, nephews other family members & friends. He also leaves behind his beloved cat "Sheba".

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5pm to 7pm Sunday at the funeral home. Graveside Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, August 16, 2010 at the Palacios Cemetery with Rev. Hollie Briscoe & Rev. Bob Keprta officiating.
