Thomas Luther "Tommy" Boutwell, 59, of Palacios passed away August 11, 2016. He was born January 5, 1957 in League City, TX to the late George Franklin Boutwell and Emma Ladell Threet. He owned and operated Boutwell Diesel Works in Palacios. He spent his entire career working on Caterpillar and shrimp boat engines.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father Jim R. Whittington. Survivors include his companion of 13 years Cheryl Hayes; his son Chad Boutwell and former wife Cindy Bowers Toy. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters George Boutwell, Jr. of Morgan City, LA, Randy & Mary Lynn Boutwell of Collinwood, TN, Dee Ann Walker of Bay City, TX, Jimmy & Judy Whittington of Haughton, LA, Bryan & Nicole Whittington of Zachary, LA, Kelly & Fernando "Fuji" Flores of Lane City, TX and Brandi & Ry Ryman of Bay City, TX; grandchildren Christian and Matrix Boutwell as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 10:00 AM until 12 Noon Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the Palacios Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday and Hawley Cemetery near Blessing, Texas.
