Tillman Moody Daniel, Jr., 93, passed away December 8, 2024 in Bay City, Texas. He was born September 4, 1931 in Chisholm, Texas to the late Tillman Moody Daniel, Sr. and Eula Mae Caughran Daniel.

Tillman graduated from Greenville High School, Baylor University and Baylor College of Medicine.

On July 14, 1956, Tillman married Freda Louise Kilgo in Angleton, Texas. They were married for 68 years, and were blessed with four children.

After serving three years as a Flight Surgeon with rank of Captain in the USAF, Tillman moved to Bay City, Texas. There he practiced general medicine for forty years. He delivered approximately 3,000 babies. In 1999, he retired and enjoyed many happy years pursuing his hobbies of hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.

He was a member of the First Methodist Church and served in many capacities there. He was active in Emmaus and the prison ministry Kairos. He loved nature and worked with the Birding Center. There is a garden named for him there. Tillman was a patriot and a member of Cradle of Texas Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution and Matagorda County Chapter #35, Sons of the Republic of Texas.

Tillman is preceded in death by his parents, and sons Kirk Bailey Daniel and Brett Christopher Daniel. He is survived by his wife Freda; son Gregory Tillman Daniel, Sr. and wife Nancy, and daughter Lisa Claire Daniel Frick and husband Tod. He is delighted to have six grandchildren: Gregory Tillman Daniel, Jr. and wife Erin, Leslie Kay Daniel Marcum and husband Robby, Jacob Christopher Daniel, Tod Mills Frick and wife Hui-Ling, Emery Elaine Donnelly and husband Tom, and Bailey Louise Daniel. As a special blessing he has three great-grandchildren; Grady Tillman Daniel, Mason Raymond Daniel, and Robert Tillman Daniel.

Visitation will be Friday, December 13, 2024 from 4:00-6:00 pm at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 2:00 pm at First Methodist Church Bay City. Private interment will follow.
