Thomas George "Tommy" Saunders, 65, passed away reuniting with his beloved Boston Terrier family member Taylor on Saturday, August 27, 2011 in Bay City. Tommy was born on November 27, 1945 to the late George and Verna Gresham Saunders. Tommy was always willing to help anyone in need. Tommy loved spending time at the beach fishing and being with his family. Tommy proudly served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War.

Survived by his wife of 44 years Gail Mickelson Saunders; daughters, Tiffany Saunders and Nikki Saunders; sister, Georgia Bender; mother-in-law, Doris Mickelson. Also survived by three Boston Terrier family members, Tobey, Torrey and Tanner.

A funeral service was held 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Jared Stillions officiating. Interment followed at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers were: Wayne Adams, Mike Kennedy, Eric O'Neal, Jose Rodriguez, Justin Taylor, and Dana Velebil.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the ASPCA, the Humane Society of the United States, or a charity of choice.
