Thomas Mark Abendroth, 77, of Bay City passed away December 8, 2024.  He was born July 8, 1947 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Mark O'Farrell "Doc" Abendroth and Frances Belle Ashley Abendroth.

Tommy loved hunting, fishing, and the outdoors in general, in particular the beach at Matagorda and fishing spots like the mouth of the Colorado. He graduated from Bay City High School in 1965 and earned an associate degree from Wharton County Junior College – he was a man of many talents and interests, and a man of strong faith. He worked for several decades for Phillips 66 at their Sweeny Complex in Old Ocean as an operator, firefighter, and EMT paramedic.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Linda Kay Abendroth.

Survivors include sons James Mark Abendroth (Tamika) and Ashley Paul Abendroth; sister Sharon Skelly (Charles); granddaughter Ellis Abendroth; niece Kimberly Muniz, great nephew Kayden Gray and great niece Kodi Gray.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be James White, Billie Virgil, Michael Crowder and Wesley Lenahart.  Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Lee, Barrie Gilcrist and Chuck Skelly.
