Sylvia Rosemary Strimple, 69, of Bay City passed away August 30, 2009. She was born May 7, 1940 in Houston, TX to Charles Edward & Sylvia Gertrude Tidwell Cornitius. She had been a resident of Bay City since 1974 and was very active in Girl Scouts both as a leader and involved with regional management for many years.

Her husband of 43 years Phillip Strimple, daughter Sharon Kangeter, mother Sylvia Cornitius and nephews Danny, Jr. & Timothy Castille all preceded her in death.

Survivors include daughters Debbie Jones & husband John of Galveston & Kimberly Ward & husband Lane of Bay City; son Kenneth Feigle of Bay City; sisters Ann Castille & Jane Callahan & husband Dan; brothers Russell Cornitius & wife Betty and Mike Cornitius & wife Susan; grandchildren Lane, Jr. and Joseph Ward, David Kangeter II, Nina Chandler and Lisa Westbrook; great grandchildren T. J. & Halee Chandler & Tyler Westbrook; great-great grandchildren Hayden & Faithlyn Chandler and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6pm to 8pm Friday, September 4, 2009 at the funeral home.
