Sybella, "Sybil", Pauline Richers Green, 104, of Bay City passed away December 12, 2025.  She was born on January 4, 1921, in Bay City to the late Louis William Richers and Julia Elise Letzerich Richers. Sybil was a dedicated wife, loving mother and proud grandmother and great grandmother.

Sybil worked as a business manager for Townsend Lease Service for over 30 years and Newpark Resources for 5 years. After retiring, she volunteered and worked at the Bay City Public Library for 10 years. Sybil enjoyed gardening and working in her flower beds, canning and freezing her fresh vegetables, as well as reading in her spare time. She made many friends playing Bridge and as a lifetime member of the Alter Society at Holy Cross Catholic Church. She and her sisters, Nettie and Lilly, always worked at the Alter Society Thanksgiving dinner cutting up cakes and pies to be served. Sybil was also members of The Daughters of the Republic of Texas and the Book Review Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin D. Green; brothers, L.W., Frank, and Otto Richers and sisters, Elviera Cernosek, Genevieve Gaudet, Judy O' Roark, Lilly Carr, and Nettie Rogers and as well as her loving son in law, Aaron Penland.

Survivors include daughter Marilyn Penland; sons Douglas Green & wife, Aurora and Pete Green & wife, Cathy; brother Sherwood Richers & wife, Judy; grandchildren Karen Conroy & husband, Pat, Andy Penland & wife, Courtney, Aimee Penland and Paige Green and great grandchildren Cody Conroy & wife, Haley, Cassidy Williford & husband, Nick, J. P. Pruett and Joshua Penland.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Holy Cross Catholic Church.  A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM followed by Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM with Rev. Stephen Vacek officiating.  Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Pat Conroy, Cody Conroy, Nick Williford, Joe Lawhon, Matt Lawhon and Rex Bass.
