Steve Cruz Ramirez, 79, of Palacios, Texas, was called home Sunday, November 3, 2024. He was born on September 14, 1945, in Palacios, Texas, to Juana (Altamira) Ramirez.

Steve worked at Alcoa for 31 years. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. Steve was a man of faith and read his Bible daily, finding strength and solace in his spirituality.

He was preceded in death by his mother Juana A. Ramirez. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Janie M. Ramirez; and his 3 children. His daughter Deanna Vasquez (Mike), his daughter Debbie Slaughter (Robert), his son Steven Ramirez (Brandy). Sister Ramona Yosemite (Mike).

11 grandchildren; Christian Espindola, Lexie Longoria, Sierra Espindola, Derek Slaughter, Bobby Slaughter, Kyle Slaughter, Lacee Szeredy, Josh Ramirez, Meagan Ramirez, Reagan Ramirez and Brooke Carpenter; 14 great grandchildren and numerous other family members.
The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation 5:00-7:00pm Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Palacios Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 10:00am Friday, November 15, 2024, at Palacios Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Young officiating. Interment will follow at Palacios Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. Ramirez will be Christian Espindola, Derek Slaughter, Bobby Slaughter, Kyle Slaughter, Josh Ramirez and Tim Longoria. Honorary Pallbearers; Mike Yosemite, Charlie Wilson, Joe Guerra and Joe Guvera.
