Sophie Fojtik Biezenski, 90, of Van Vleck passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009 at The Legacy. She was born Dec. 21, 1918 in East Bernard, Texas to the late August and Sophie Tymel Fojtik. She was a resident of Van Vleck for the past 34 years and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Frank Biezenski and sisters Bessie Sindel, Josie Warren, Edna Matula and Gertrude Tallas.
Survivors include her son Eddie Biezenski and wife Carol of Van Vleck; daughter Yvonne and husband Garry Nicholson of Arizona; sister Evelyn Schmalriede of Houston; brother Victor Fojtik; granddaughter Brittany Biezenski of Van Vleck and many extended family members. The family would like to send a special Thank You to Rosie Singletary for her many years of dedicated service to Sophie. They also extend thanks to the staff members of both The Legacy Health Care Center and Bay Villa Health Care Center.
Sophie was very loving and will be missed by many who loved her, and whose lives she had touched.
The family will receive visitors from 4:30 pm till 6:30 pm Tuesday with a Rosary following at 7:00 PM at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Casey Jarzombek officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be Greg Branton, Mark Branton, Bryan Schmalriede, Garry Nicholson, David Branton and Bob Kilpatrick.
