Soila Elizalde Morales was born on August 15, 1935, to Guadalupe and Elvida Elizalde in Woodsboro, Texas, and went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 2, 2016 surrounded by her loved ones.
The oldest of nine children, she moved with her family to Bay City, Texas in 1952. In 1953 she wed Salvador Morales. They had six children; Abel, Katy, Grace, Michael, Roland and Martin, ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Soila was a follower of Christ and a true servant. She worked from the age of 15 in various jobs including a ticket clerk at Franklin Theater, where she met her husband of 63 years, a clerk at Rosenzweig's Clothing and several local restaurants. Soila went to work for Mrs. Bobbye Taylor in 1961 and continued to work for the Taylor and Ronnie and Charlotte Miller families for 50 years until her health would no longer allow her to continue. She was a mother and grandmother to them and always loved them as her family. During her life, Soila served as a volunteer for G.I. Forum, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and Holy Cross Catholic School just to name a few.
Soila was a master seamstress making beautifully tailored clothes for her children, grandchildren and anyone who asked her to create for them. Both of her daughters, and daughter-in-law wore handmade wedding dresses that Soila created. In Soila's life of service, preparing food was an outward expression of her love for people. Soila was an incredible cook and people continue to call today for her personal recipes. Unselfishly, she continued to share all of her talents with others.
Soila's greatest loves were her children and her grandchildren. She was so very proud of them. Despite her illness, Soila never complained, always telling everyone she was fine. Today our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend is truly fine and free from disease, dwelling in paradise with Christ the King.
Soila was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Gloria Delarosa and Virginia Galindo. She is survived by her husband Salvador Morales, children Abel Morales, Katy Morales and husband Frankie, Grace Gonzalez and husband Raymond, Michael Morales and wife Lisa, Roland Morales and Martin Morales. Grandchildren, Sean Morales, Lance Clifford Morales, Trey Morales, Keith Morales, Valerie Morales, Michael Ryan Gonzalez, Kristi Gonzalez Tucker, Phillip Mychal Morales, William Levi Morales, Matthew Isaiah Morales, Garrett Morales, and seven great grandchildren. Soila is also survived by her siblings Ernesto Elizalde, Lydia Cantu, Henry Elizalde and wife Martha, sister Eddy and husband John Mahaffey, Lupe Elizalde and wife Katy, Ray Elizalde, and half brother Lauro Elizalde.
Dear God, let me always realize that I am here for a time to love and serve You until You call me to eternal life.
