Smiley Aguilar, 49, of Bay City went to be with his Lord and loved ones on Wednesday, March 27, 2013. Smiley was born on May 23, 1963 in Galveston to the late Domingo Aguilar Sr. and Virginia Hernandez Gazca. Smiley was a loving husband and father who loved to barbeque for his family and friends.

Smiley is survived by his wife of 14 years: Nora Garza Aguilar; 6 children: Daniel, Smiley Jr., Mike, Marissa, Sarah, and Brandon; 10 grandchildren: Jaylynn, Makylah, Aleesah, Aungelie, George lll, Zaydah, Sophia, Mike IV, Amirra, and Aaliyah; 4 brothers: Domingo Jr., Benny, Louis, and Sammy; 4 sisters: Pauline, Dora, Stella, and Shirley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday with a prayer service at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. The funeral service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Villarreal officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers, Ismael Aguilar, Jr., Daniel McClary, Mike Herrera, Brandon Lee Aguilar, Domingo Aguilar, Frankie Cortez, Benny Aguilar and Louis Aguilar.
