Obituary

Sherry Ellen Hunt, 55, of Palacios, unexpectedly passed away on January 9, 2018. She was born January 13, 1962 in Bay City to Robert Lee and Mary Ellen Schurtz.

Sherry attended Tidehaven High School in El Maton, TX, where she loved to play her flute and was a part of the Tidehaven marching band. She worked as a Decontamination Technician, and was part of the Safety team at the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant. John & Sherry Hunt were married on November 17, 1979 and have been together for 40 years.

Her family and friends were her entire world. She loved to get her hair done, and enjoyed dancing her heart out, listening to her old records, and most recently spending time with her grandbaby, Sebastian. Sherry was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and dedicated friend to many.

Sherry is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ellen Schurtz. She is survived by her husband John; father Robert Schurtz; children, Joshua Hunt and his wife Nicole, and their son Sebastian, and Jonathan Hunt and his girlfriend JoLin, along with her two children, Kyson and Zoey; sisters, Kristina Thigpen and Shelley Muschalek; brother Robert Schurtz; her nieces and nephews, along with the rest of her relatives and friends whom she loved dearly.

The family will receive friends and relatives 4:00-8:00pm Sunday, January 14 at the funeral home. Services will be held 2:00pm Monday, January 15, 2018 at Palacios Funeral Home with Rev. Louis Rush of Trinity Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Midfield Cemetery.
