Selma Verline "Jean" Barrett, 97, of Houston, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015. She was born June 29, 1917 in Many, Louisiana to the late Henry and Ava Howard Brumley.

Selma is preceded in death by her husband Delma Wayne Barrett; daughters Norma Jean Voitle and Sandy Frieda; son Delma Wayne "Buddy" Barrett, son-in-laws Eddie Voitle & Paul Hobbs, daughter-in-laws Althea Barrett & Janet Barrett, five brothers & one sister, grandson Monte Barrett & great-granddaughter Shawna Voitle. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Ann Reznicek (Shorty); son Malcolm Barrett; grandchildren Brad Voitle, Teri Rodgers, Shawn Voitle, Scott Reznicek, Wendi Blohm, Larry Reznicek, Mark Barrett, Connie Gregorek, David Barrett, Debbie Sharer, Becky Cook, Dona Hupp, Heather James and Paul Hobbs; 28 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, June 25, 2015, at Calvary Baptist Church in Bay City with Rev. Chester Sassman officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers are Larry Reznicek, Mark Barrett, David Barrett, Paul Hobbs, Shawn Voitle, and Lane Barrett. Honorary pallbearers are Brad Voitle, Scott Reznicek, and great-grandsons.
