Sarah Margaret Leverett, 84, of Bay City, Texas, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026. She was born September 1, 1941, in Cheraw, South Carolina to the late Eddie and Gracie Thomas.

She enjoyed gardening and working in her flower beds. She loved watching and feeding the birds, especially hummingbirds and cardinals.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Leverett; and a son, Arthur S. Leverett. Survivors include her sons, Marvin, Frank and James; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristi, Marissa, Clinton and Kimberly; great-grandchildren, Kennedi, Haisley, Thompson, Jace, Cash, Wyatt, Abigail, and Emerson.

The family would like to wish a special thanks to Paradigm Nursing Home and her special caretaker, Rosie Johnson.

The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation from 1:00pm – 2:00pm Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00pm with Pastor James King officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be her sons, and Chris Locklear.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Sarah’s name be given to the MD Anderson Cancer Foundation.
