Sarah M. Garza, 83, of Bay City passed away December 16, 2015. She was born July 28, 1932 in Cuero, TX to the late Mateo Morales and Rafeala Lopez Morales.
Sarah was a special kind of person. She had a giving heart, taking on the caregiver role to many of her family and friends. She was active in her church, Our Lady of Guadalupe, offering up her time and service as her health permitted. She was employed at the school district for 20 years always working hard and always smiling. She enjoyed life also, garage sales and Tejano dancing until her body wouldn't allow. She was a strong lady, surviving cancer several times. She will be missed dearly as she was one of a kind, the selfless mother, giving sister, nurturing grandmother and loving aunt.
Sarah was preceded in death by a great grandson Matthew Ryan Garcia. She is survived by daughter Emma Rodriguez & husband Agapito of St. Joseph, Michigan; sons Carlos Garza of Sweeny and Julio Garza, Jr. of Bay City; sister Joyce Flores of Bay City; brothers Salvador Morales and Matt Morales both of Bay City; grandchildren Monica Garcia and husband Larry, Michelle Schulz, Agapito Rodriguez, Jr. and wife Cassandra, Mandi Johns and husband Jason, Aaron Garza, and 9 great grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited at 5:00 PM Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Monday, December 21, 2015 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Msgr. Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Agapito Rodriguez, Jr., Aaron Garza, Frank Garza, Abel Morales, Tommy Flores and Jimmy Garza.
