Santiago "Jimmy" Luera Sr., 51, of Bay City passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2008 in Houston. He was born September 30, 1957 in New Gulf, Texas to Delia Martinez Luera & Emilio Luera Sr..

Jimmy is survived by his parents; 2 sons: Santiago "Jimmy" Luera Jr. and Paul Anthony Luera both of Bay City; sister: Belma Davalos of Angleton; 2 brothers: Emilio Luera Jr. of Angleton and Ricardo Luera Sr. of Bay City; 2 grandchildren: Brailynn Luera of Wadsworth and Jaiden Luera of Orange Park, FL; 4 nieces; 3 nephews; 5 great nieces; and 4 great nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Macedino & Lazara Luera and Juan & Herminia Martinez.

A Prayer Service will be held 7:00 PM Friday, December 19, 2008 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. George T. Vasquez officiating. A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Pena officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: George Correa, Tim Davalos Jr., Emilio Longoria Jr., David Garza, Robert DeLarosa, and Alfred Gutierrez. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jesse Mireles and Danny Correa III.
