Obituary

Sandra Gayle Lewis, 65, of Van Vleck affectionately known as "Nanny", was promoted to Heaven on Friday morning, October 18, 2013. Sandra was a twenty-six year member of Harvest Time Church, where she ran the sound booth and was the director of Vacation Bible School for years. She loved the Lord and everyone in her church family, especially her sisters in Christ. Nanny was a Charter member of the Van Vleck Lions Club. She was also devoted to her family, often calling them her, "tiny, but precious, little-mighty family."

Sandy was born in Milton, FL, Santa Rosa County on June 13th, 1948 to the late Margaret Edna Black and William Curtis Barnes. She is survived by her loving and faithful husband of forty years, Elmer Lewis, her sister Cathy Deckard Boone and husband James, her nephew Andrew Deckard Sr. and wife Julie, her nephew Steven Boone and wife Lynn, her great-nephews Andrew Deckard Jr. and John Wayne Boone, and her precious friends and sisters Karen Ryman, Leona Allen, and Esta Lee Crosson.

The family will receive visitors from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Brother Jim Hardaway and Pastor Bobby Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be Mike Ryman, Nathanial Ryman, David Hajducek, C.J. Medina, Blake Bolton, and Coby Bolton.

In lieu of flowers, it was her wish to have donations made to the American Kidney Foundation. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Until we see you again in Heaven, Nanny, keep Jesus laughing.
