Sampson Gardner, Jr., 56, of Bay City passed away Feb. 20, 2009. He was born Nov. 27, 1952 in Bay City to the late Sampson Gardner, Sr. & Nona Jenkins Gardner.

His sister Esther Mae Wiley and brothers Thomas Baugh, Alfred Baugh and Jesse Baugh all preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife Mona Owen Gardner; daughters Sheila Marie Gardner & Shellie Elizabeth Gardner; sons and their wives Sampson Gardner III & Patricia Luna and Scotty James & Mackenzie Gardner; sister Katherine Joiner; brothers James Earl Gardner and Donald Ray Gardner; and grandchildren Caleb DaShaun Gardner, Abigail Marie Gardner and Kyler James Gardner.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Mass will be 10:00 AM Monday, Feb. 23, 2009 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Sampson Gardner III, Scotty James Gardner, James Earl Gardner, Donald Ray Gardner, Larry Amey, Emil George Owen, William Herman Owen III and William Herman Owen IV. Christopher Earl Gardner, James Tristan Gardner, Bobby Dale Wood, Jr., William Berkley Wood, Emil Owen, Donald Ray Gardner, Jr., Jeffrey Gardner, Edward Hite, Thomas Baugh, Larry Sanford, Joseph Frank Owen and Bobby Dale Wood, Sr. will serve as honorary pallbearers.
