Ruth Ratliff Bentinck went to be with Jesus May 31, 2010 at the age of 93. She was born on April 7, 1917 in Cedar Lane, Texas to George E. and Ethel Warren Ratliff. Ruth was the second of four children. She graduated from Texas Women's College and was a newspaper reporter and journalist until her marriage to George F. Bentinck in 1947. Ruth is survived by her son George C. Bentinck of Delaware, her daughter Bette Smart and son-in-law Jeff Smart of Katy, granddaughter Hilary Smart of Austin as well as nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City, Texas Saturday, June 5th at 10:00 A.M. . Burial will be in Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.
