Ruppert Lee Charnick, 84, of Bay City passed away June 7, 2022.  He was born March 18, 1938 in Hampton, Virginia to the late Elmer Charnick and Elaine Jenkins Charnick.

Ruppert worked for Brown and Root Construction back in 1977 building STP.  He then worked for Bay City ISD as maintence and groundskeeper till he moved back to Virginia in 1988.  He then worked for Newport News Parks and Recreation until he retired in 2000.

Ruppert enjoyed yardwork, fishing, hunting and anything to do with the outdoors.

Ruppert married Sandra Zimmerman  on January 11, 1964.  He was devoted to his loving wife for 58 years.  He loved his family. He belonged to The Central Baptist Church in Yorktown.

In addition to his  parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Elmer Charnick, Jr.  Survivors include his wife Sandra Zimmerman Charnick; daughter Donna Marie Cruz; son Ruppert "Rudy" Charnick and wife Beth; sister Elaine Henson; grandchildren Erlinda Cruz, Jennifer Yanez, Ernest Yanez, Jr. and Ashli Brown and great grandchildren Rylan Wilson-Brown, Annabelle Ward, Bellatrix Ward, Hayden Ward and Nora Ward.
