Obituary

Rudolph Elwood Mosier, Jr. finally found peace and rest on April 12, 2018 surrounded by his wife, loving family and devoted friends. He was 86 years of age. He was born on February 25, 1932 to Stella Mae Rinks and Rudolph Elwood Mosier. He was the eldest of three boys. As a life-long resident of Palacios he worked at Alcoa for 28 years as a First Class Machinist and remained a member of Alcoa's 25 year club. He was also a very skilled carpenter and enjoyed building houses around Palacios and was very proud when he built his first shrimp boat and joined the shrimping industry. He also learned the skill of sewing and repairing shrimp nets for his boat and those of others. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Flora Margerum Mosier, whom he was married to for fifty six years. He was also preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his present wife, Vikijane Sheeran Mosier, and his two brothers Donald Ray Mosier (Wray Nell) and Johnnie Earl Mosier (Dolores). He is survived by his three children Terry Wayne Mosier (Debbie), Diana Kay Mosier Slavik (Harold), and Susan Carol Mosier Stanfield (Derrek) and his three step-children Joseph, Daniel, and Jacob Bear (Laura). He has seven grandchildren, Angela Diaz, Mary Lynn Mosier, Bonnie Harvey (Roger), Leigh Ann Mosier Roemer (Eric), Kristen Treider (Russell) Cassie Sternadel (Matthew), and Daniel Stanfield and two step grandchildren Michael and Natalie Bear. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren, Austin, Adrian and Alaina Diaz; Mackenzie Curington, Kaiden, Jacob, Lucas, Flora, and Erica Harvey; Lila and Luke Sternadel; Hannah and Chloe Treider and Evan Stanfield.

Visitation will be 2:30-3:30 pm at the Palacios Funeral Home on Sunday, April 15, 2018. Immediately following the visitation, a Graveside service officiated by Pastor Chris Webb will be held at the Palacios Cemetery Pavilion at 4:00 p.m. Honorary Pallbearers will be the First Baptist Church Men's Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church, Palacios.
