Rubena "Sugie" Keen, 92, of Bay City passed away January 4, 2008. She was born August 10, 1915 in Jacksboro, Texas to the late William and Texie Worthington Nelson. She and her late husband W. Q. Keen owned and operated Bay Drug Store in Bay City from 1946 until 1975. She loved her family and friends, enjoyed traveling, cooking and playing golf and took great pride in her dress and appearance.

Survivors include daughter Carolyn Sue Burford & husband Dick of Van Vleck; son Nelson Keen & wife Mona of Bay City; grandchildren Bret & Amy Burford, Blaire Popek, Troy & Tina Keen, Jennifer & Shane Smith and Lisa & Shannon Smith; great grandchildren Garner & Travis Burford, Maegan & Leighton Keen, Amber & Lacy Smith, and Brooke & Dylan Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband W. Q. Keen and a great grandson, Logan Smith.

The family will receive visitors from 6 PM to 8 PM Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. A memorial service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, January 6, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Harrison officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date.
